      Whenever I bring up the topic of my book with people, they always respond with a story or two of their own. They're often as funny and vivid as any anecdote I included in the book. I wanted to create a space for people to share their own experiences with 1970s natural foods, aka "hippie food." Did you learn to bake whole-wheat bread from Adelle Davis or the Tassajara Bread Book? Did you secretly toss the sprout-and-cheese sandwiches your parents packed into your lunchbox and beg your friends for Twinkies?
